Random Reflections

Do not dwell so much on the past that you forget to live in the present and put your future in jeopardy. #LookForward

There's a reason why your windshield is so much bigger than your rear view mirror. Looking back is important for a glance and to make sure things are clear, but if you look back for too long you may miss the bigger picture ahead of you. #LookForward!

The 7Rs to De-stressing

Remove yourself from the situation causing you stress

Breath deeply and try to Relax.

Reflect on what brought you to this place.

Reconnect with the thing or person (this could be self) you love most.

Re-energize yourself (or the relationship) while you are away from the stressor.

Release that stressor. Holding on to things does more harm to you than good.

Finally, pick yourself back up and work your way through it and Recover.

Remove, Relax, Reflect, Reconnect, Re-energize, Release, and Recover.

Getting nervous is not bad. It is when nervous gets you that things may become difficult. Take some deep breaths, try visualizing your "happy place", and take back control. It may sound easier said than done, but it is not impossible. Give it a shot. What do you have to lose, besides those nervous feelings, of course?

Take a look at this DIY Mindfulness Jar that I found on BuzzFeed. The glitter represents your thoughts and emotions. As the glitter settles and you sit still, notice your breath and your thoughts settling down, too.

Marriage is...

Marriage is the only sentence where good behavior gets you more time. #Life

Marriage is...

Marriage is a partnership. I like to think of marriage as a merger between two companies with each individual being a CEO. Like a business merger, a marriage requires partners to sit down and discuss the terms of the newly formed partnership. Without this meeting the business cannot strive and hit their bottom line. So communication in a marriage is essential in order for success.
